The news that Selfies have killed more people so far this year than sharks has received wide coverage recently. There have been 12 selfie deaths and eight deaths from sharks. We mention it again because the solution seems clear: teach sharks to take selfies.

FUNNY PREDICTIONS FROM YESTERYEAR

PaleoFuture.com has funny predictions from yesteryear. In the 1980s, they predicted that by now, prescriptions would be dispensed from vending machines and diagnostic computers would replace doctors during exams. The site also lets you listen to street sounds from the 1920s and learn which websites in the year 2000 were expected to be the biggest in 2010. (AOL and “Quixtar” were in the top five.)

If like us, you don’t want to take the time to learn Photoshop but like turning ordinary photos into wacky bits of art, have we got the program for you. It’s Ashampoo Photo Card, and oh boy, is this fun. We put Joy’s sister into a British telephone booth, Joy’s face on a skyscraper, and Bob’s reflection in a mirror above a chest of drawers. We saved the results to disk so we could print them out, but these and dozens of other designs can be emailed, posted on Facebook or shown off on the Ashampoo website.
