CharityNavigator.com rates charities on how well they spend your contributions. Though the American Red Cross gets the highest four-star rating, their president’s salary is a thumping $996,000, just a bit shy of a million. Even small charities, that we have given to, have presidents with salaries of $178,000 and more. They may be non-profit, but they’re certainly profitable for the executives.
