PAINT AND CREATE FOR KIDS

“Crayola Paint and Create” costs $3 and is a child play app for the iPad, with more than 40 activities. Kids’ fingers become colored pencils, paint brushes, crayons or markers that play games as they move them across the tablet screen to fill in coloring books. All artwork can be saved to the gallery, emailed, printed or uploaded to Facebook.

SKYPE APP GETS RID OF THE SHAKES

Getting clear video with your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad2 is easier with a new Skype app.

The neatest feature of the new app is image stabilization. This comes close to duplicating the “steady cam” software used professionally with handheld cameras. We looked at two videos, one using the image stabilization and one without, and the app made a big difference.
