Ting“Ting” is a new cell phone service that won’t make you pay for minutes you don’t use. It will launch early next year on the Sprint network.

If you don’t use all your minutes, you get a credit for the next month. If you go over your allotted minutes, you pay for what you use, without penalty. The Ting plan is $6 per month per device, plus the cost of minutes, and you don’t have to sign a contract. For example, 100 minutes adds $3 a month to the bill. Initially, Ting will work with Android phones, MiFi devices, and USB modems, but not the iPhone or Blackberry. You can keep your existing phone number. Sign up to be a beta tester or get notifications at Ting.com.
