When we’re on the phone, we doodle,  play games,  go through email –but don’t tell any of our friends this. Now we can do it while using Skype, the free Internet phone service, on an iPhone.

You can receive Skype calls while other apps are running on your iPhone or iPod Touch. During a call, you might want to check movie listings, read email or play with other apps. Your iPhone will ring if you get a Skype call, even if the app isn’t running.

Skype has been full of upgrades lately. In May, they introduced an iPhone app that lets users make calls over their 3G cellular connections, without being in range of Wi-Fi.

Multitasking requires an iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, or a third-generation iPod touch (32GB and 64GB models from late 2009). More details here.
