CLASSIC GAMES, AVATARS AND DISCOUNTS
— Atari.com has classic computer games from the 1970’s, back when the Atari 2600 ruled the game room. You can play them all again at this web site, for free.
— Oddcast.com lets you put your own face into animated videos. We recently received a video that had former PC World columnist Steve Bass playing the part of the scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz. We also got a pitch from an insurance company that is using Oddcast to let you star in a half-time football show. Go to onyoursideline.com to
try it out.
— Fatwallet.com lists items discounted for sale at major retailers. Prices are often half of list. Lowest price we saw was one cent – that’s right: $.01, for a copy of Norton Internet Security 2010 that normally sells for $80. The kicker was “after rebate.” You have to pay the full price and then send the rebate coupon in to get your $80 back. Still, that works.
