Recently we wrote about how to reset the memory on inkjet cartridges so the printer’s software would think they were still full. It’s common to get “low ink” warning messages even though the cartridge is still close to half full. After all, they want you to go out and buy more ink.

printer ink cartridgeWell a woman wrote us to say she couldn’t find the memory reset button on her Hewlett Packard Deskjet cartridge, so she rapped it hard on her desk. After a couple of whacks she reinserted it, and the printer now told her the cartridge was full. Good work! This is another approach and one that fits with the old advice: “If it doesn’t work, get a bigger hammer.”
