We’ve signed on to so many photo and social networking sites we can’t remember what we’re connected to. “Social Folders” is an application that connects to social networking sites and downloads photos and documents to your computer.

After we installed the free program and chose the services we wanted, we opened Windows Explorer and noticed a new item in our list of folders.  Clicking “Social Folders” revealed a folder for Facebook and one for “SmugMug.” We’d forgotten we have photos on SmugMug, and there they all were, from eight years ago.

Social Folders connects to Picasa, Photobucket, YouTube, Box, Flickr and Google Docs. It manages 2000 files for free. After that, it’s $2 a month or $10 a year.
