Teachers can earn money online at Learnable.com.  A typical lesson costs $20 and Learnable takes half of that, so the teacher earns $10 for each person that signs up for the course. Besides courses in business and technology, there are some oddities — like learning to play the Irish whistle.  (Always wanted that.)

If you want to take a course at Learnable, read the teacher’s biography and look at an outline of the course. All courses are vetted before they appear. About a fourth of the courses involve programming or web design.
