— Over 31 percent of laptops will fail in the first three years of ownership, according to Square Trade, a large independent warranty dealer. Of these failures, two-thirds come from hardware malfunctions and one-third from accidents, like dropping it. Asus and Toshiba had the fewest failures. — One-fourth of 16 and 7-year-old drivers send and receive text messages on their phones while driving. Nearly 50 percent talk on their phones while driving.
