THE E-INK WATCH
Posted on February 24th, 2011 by Bob and Joy Schwabach
Joy likes reading on the Kindle, because the “E-Ink” display is easy on the eyes. Now the same technology is going into watches.
Some E-Ink watches can cover twelve time zones and switch between them every few seconds. Others show a calendar page along with the time. Amazon.com has a bunch of these. They start at around $110, and we’ll guess they are destined to get down to $10 some day.
Just as E-Ink pages on the Kindle don’t use the battery until you turn a page, E-Ink watches don’t use any battery until the numbers change. Color E-Ink displays will arrive later this year.
