THE NUMBERS REPORT – RECESSION-PROOF ELECTRONICS

No matter how bad the recession gets, people won’t give up their electronic toys, according to Accenture, which surveyed 3,000 U.S. citizens in November and December 2008.
Ninety-seven 97 percent of respondents said they were not willing to give up home access to the Internet; 92 percent were said they would not give uptheir cable or satellite TV service; 90 percent said they would not give up their cellphone service
The survey also revealed that because of the global economic downturn: 56 percent of consumers have become less willing to pay a premium price for environmentally friendly consumer electronics, while 44 percent of consumers said they would be willing to pay a ‘green’ price premium.
