— is a new fun site for children. It’s estimated that more than 11 million children under the age of 15 regularly go online and parents are understandably concerned about the risks when those children use a web browser. This site lets children watch talking picture books, videos and games from well-known

publishers without using a browser.

Most of the stuff on the site is not free but not expensive either. You download the free “KidThing” player to get read-along books such as “The Cat in the Hat,” and “Corduroy.” Each book, game or video ranges in priced from 99 cents to $7. What makes it less expensive than it seems at first is that young children tend to want the same story read to them many times. The player is just for Windows now, but a Mac version is in the works.
