VIDEO GAMERS RULE

spockAccording to the scientific journal Cerebral Cortex, published by Oxford University Press, video game players have better brains.

The 39 adults in the study, three fourths of whom were women ages 18 to 28, played a game called “Space Fortress.” They had to attack and destroy the fortress without losing a ship. Those with the largest “nucleus accumbens,” the name given to the brain’s reward center, did the best initially. But when faced with complications, those with the biggest “putamen,” the part of the brain devoted to learning new skills, did the best.

This confirms our own long-held views. “Spock: arm the photon torpedoes.”
