BED-TIME POWER

A recent survey sent to us by Credant Technologies, said over a fourth of the workers in the United Kingdom work in bed with their laptop or smart phone. More than half of them spend two to six hours a day at it. Eight percent spend more time on the laptop than they do talking to their spouse in bed. (Divorce figures to follow.) Almost half these busy-in-bed workers use documents that are important to their employers and are downloaded from work.

Here comes the most amazing part: 87 percent of these people use a wireless network, and 20 percent of those admit it’s an unsecured network but don’t care. In short, a snooping neighbor or high-tech spy could easily track what they’re doing. Happily for most marriages, most people kiss their spouse goodnight as the last thing they do before closing their eyes. But around four percent admitted they cradle their laptop instead.
