We use a splitter to share one cable connection between two TVs. A new Gefen device lets you connect as many as 100 displays to one Ethernet cable. Who could possibly need a hundred displays? Think airport terminal. How about public school?

“CanWeNetwork” is a free app aimed at uncovering new business contacts from people nearby. When we tried it, it matched us with several engineers and consultants less than three miles away. Had we wished, we could have sent them a message. Since the app tells you how close your new contacts are, if we were sitting side by side in the same coffee shop, we could say hello.

We’re pretty sure we were the target of an attempted identity theft recently. Joy was asked to “verify” information on the phone regarding a recent credit card application. Bob was very suspicious, so Joy said, skip it, she didn’t want the card anyway. Even after she said that, she was asked to verify her birth date and other personal information in order to cancel. Whoop, whoop, whoop: Enemy attack! Battle stations! She hung up.
