CLASSIC GAMES, AVATARS AND DISCOUNTS

asteroids Atari.com has classic computer games from the 1970’s, back when the Atari 2600 ruled the game room.  You can play them all again at this web site, for free.

Oddcast.com lets you put your own face into animated videos. We recently received a video that had former PC World columnist Steve Bass playing the part of the scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz. We also got a pitch from an insurance company that is using Oddcast to let you star in a half-time football show. Go to onyoursideline.com to

Fatwallet.com lists items discounted for sale at major retailers. Prices are often half of list. Lowest price we saw was one cent – that’s right: $.01, for a copy of Norton Internet Security 2010 that normally sells for $80.  The kicker was “after rebate.” You have to pay the full price and then send the rebate coupon in to get your $80 back. Still, that works.
